Passengers departing from the new international Bengaluru (Bangalore) International Airport (BIAL) need not worry about remembering to pay for the User Development Fee of 1,070 rupees (US$21).
Since July, the toll which goes toward paying for the construction and operation of the five-month-old facility, has been incorporated in the price of air tickets.
Only infants under two years and airline crew on duty are exempted from paying as well as domestic passengers or those making a connection to another city for an international flight.
BIAL opened in May designed to serve between 12 and 15 million passengers a year.
About 40km from the city centre, passengers are advised to allocate between one to two and a half hours for travelling time, especially during peak hours.
