Easyhotel to open at Heathrow next year

19 Oct 2007 by Mark Caswell
Easyhotel has announced it will open a property at Heathrow Airport early next year, its first airport hotel.

Easyhotel London Heathrow will open in spring 2008, and will be located on Brickfield Lane, approximately 1½ miles from Terminals 1, 2 and 3. A free shuttle bus will run between the airport and hotel during airport opening hours.

The hotel will be run by the Eclipse Hotel Group, which will also manage the forthcoming Easyhotel Luton, due to open in February next year. Easyhotel currently has three hotels in London and one in Basel, as well as a recently-opened property in Budapest. A second Swiss hotel is due to open in Zurich next month.

Sameer Damji, Director at Eclipse, said: "We believe that the Easyhotel brand has huge potential and appeals to a new generation of cost conscious traveller. We are looking forward to working together with Easyhotel on yet another project and will continue to look at other opportunities together in the future".

Lawrence Alexander, CEO for Easyhotel.com added: "Heathrow was always a target for the brand and we are delighted that Eclipse is confident in the potential of our business model to the extent that they are to develop another hotel before they have opened their first".
