9 Dec 2015 by GrahamSmith
British Airways will fly its B787-9 Dreamliner to Jeddah and Dubai from July and October respectively. Exact dates are to be announced. Earlier today, the carrier revealed it will add the aircraft on to its Shanghai route from March 27 (see news, December 9). Also in 2016, BA will add the B787-9 to routes including New York Newark, Narita, Houston, Mumbai and Boston. Further details are forthcoming. The airline took delivery of its first B787-9 in September (see news, September 30) and added it to its Abu Dhabi route in November. BA currently flies the B787-9, which includes its new first class cabin, to Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Delhi and Kuala Lumpur and will operate flights to Austin from February 5 and San Jose from May 4 (see news, August 26). Paolo De Renzis, BA's head of Middle East, Africa and Central Asia Sales, said: "We launched our 787-9 Dreamliner on the Abu Dhabi route last month and already we are receiving great feedback from our customers. "The new First generation cabin is particularly popular with our customers who are looking for that bit of extra luxury when flying, which is complemented by our quintessentially British service."
