Etihad opens New York JFK lounge

3 Dec 2015 by GrahamSmith

Etihad Airways has opened a First and Business Class Lounge in Terminal 4 at New York's JFK airport.

The facility is the carrier's second in the US, joining a lounge at Dulles airport in Washington DC (see news, April 2013).

Located after the security checkpoint in Terminal 4, the lounge features Etihad's "Facets of Abu Dhabi" design theme, with colours that reflect the varying sandy hues of the UAE landscape.

Food and drink options include a bar and lounge and an á la carte and international buffet option in the main dining area.

The facility also features showers and changing rooms, male and female prayer rooms, a library and luggage storage.

A private area is also available exclusively for guests in The Residence – offering the same level of hospitality as that offered by the Savoy-trained butlers onboard the A380.

Etihad launched an A380 service to JFK, its first to the US, last week (see news, November 24).

James Hogan, Etihad president and CEO, said: "The opening of Etihad Airways' new First and Business Class Lounge at New York's JFK International airport reinforces our commitment to investing in the travel experience and providing our guests with the highest levels of comfort, luxury and world-class hospitality at every point in their journey – on the ground and in the air."
