Emirates to fly 615-seat A380 to Manchester

Emirates will operate a 615-seat A380 to Manchester instead of London Gatwick next year. From January 1, the Gulf airline will fly the two-class superjumbo daily between Dubai and Manchester, replacing the three-class A380 currently flying as EK019/020. It had planned to operate the high-density aircraft to LGW from that date, when Emirates' London service becomes an A380-only offering (see news, August 6). The carrier's three-times daily Gatwick operation will still turn A380-only in the new year, but flights EK011/012, currently flown by a B777, will now be operated by a three-class superjumbo, instead of the 615-seater previously planned, reports airlineroute.net. As a result, Emirates will fly a thrice-daily, three-class A380 service to Gatwick, while Manchester will be served by two A380s (one two-class, the other three-class) and a B777. Emirates also operates a five-times daily A380 service to London Heathrow. emirates.com
