Emirates flew a one-off A380 service to Taiwan today.
The Gulf carrier rostered the superjumbo on to its EK366 flight from Dubai to Taipei Taoyuan International airport.
It was the first time an airline has landed the superjumbo at the airport.
The aircraft was met by a traditional water cannon salute before taxiing to gate C2.

It is Emirates policy to run proving flights, to see if ground handling at the destination airport can cope, and then to follow-up with a regular scheduled service at some future stage.
Emirates first flew to Taipei in February 2014 (see news, August 2013).
Edwin Lau, Emirates' vice president of Hong Kong, Taiwan and Guangzhou, said: "Emirates is honoured to be the first airline to land the A380 at Taiwan Taoyuan International airport.
"Taiwan is an important market for Emirates, and we've witnessed increased demand from passengers since we began daily flights between Dubai and Taipei in February 2014."
The move follows a one-off A380 proving flight to Doha last week (see news, July 14), and to Glasgow and Tehran last year (see news, February and September 2014).
