Ryanair announces first Israel routes

7 Jul 2015 by GrahamSmith

Ryanair has announced it will expand into Israel later this year.

The Irish carrier will launch three services from Eilat Ovda airport in the south of the country to Budapest, Kaunas and Krakow.

All three routes will launch in November and each will operate twice-weekly.

Eilat Ovda airport is located 60 kilometres north of Eilat.

David O'Brien, Ryanair's CCO, said: "Ryanair is pleased to announce our entry into the Israeli market from November 2015, our 31st country, with three new Eilat Ovda routes to Budapest, Kaunas and Krakow, which will deliver 40,000 customers annually.

"We are continuing to negotiate with the Israeli authorities and we look forward to growing our Israeli route network in the future."

Yesterday, Ryanair revealed it will commence a three-times weekly service between Edinburgh and Copenhagen this winter (see news, July 6).
