Budget hotel group Motel One has opened a property in Manchester.
The 330-room new-build hotel is located opposite Manchester Piccadilly railway station.
It is the German group's fourth hotel in the UK, joining two Motel One properties in Edinburgh (see news, November 2012) and one in London (see news, December 2014).
Public spaces are limited, but there is a lounge and bar, the latter of which "takes on the Britpop culture which the city is famous for, the walls are lined with metal-coated LPs while the ceiling is embellished with a mirror ball".
Rooms start from £69 per night, with continental breakfast costing an additional £9.50.
Motel One first launched in 2000 with budget properties located close to German motorways, but has since refined its concept to focus on prime city centre locations including Brussels, Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich.
The group currently has 50 hotels and approximately 13,500 rooms across Europe and recently opened its fourth hotel in Vienna, Motel One Wien-Hauptbahnhof.
