Etihad eyes further Scotland services

15 Jun 2015 by GrahamSmith

Etihad Airways is planning more flights to Scotland, it has emerged.

The Gulf carrier launched its first service to the country, a non-stop daily operation between Abu Dhabi and Edinburgh, last week (see news, June 8).

The airline said that expansion at Edinburgh could follow the same path as Dublin, where a second daily flight was added last year (see news, January 2014).

Etihad CCO Peter Baumgartner told The Scotsman: "It is a good example of a potential development plan."

He refused to confirm whether Edinburgh or Glasgow would receive the second Scotland service.

Last year, CEO James Hogan revealed Etihad plans to launch a second service between Scotland and Abu Dhabi in 2019 (see news, July 2014).
