Etihad Airways has launched its first service to Scotland with a non-stop daily flight between Abu Dhabi and Edinburgh.
The new route, which commenced today, is being operated by a two-class A330-200 with 22 seats in business class and 240 seats in economy.
Outbound service EY27 departs Abu Dhabi at 0220 and lands in Edinburgh at 0720. Return flight EY28 leaves Edinburgh at 0910 and arrives in Abu Dhabi at 1940.
Last year, CEO James Hogan revealed Etihad plans to launch a second service between Scotland and Abu Dhabi in five years' time (see news, July 2014).
Edinburgh is Etihad's third departure point from the UK. It currently offers triple-daily flights from London, and double-daily flights from Manchester.
