Accor 'rebrands' as Accorhotels

8 Jun 2015 by GrahamSmith

Accor has rebranded as Accorhotels.

The French group has made the change in order to tie in its name with that of its website, accorhotels.com.

A statement said: "The new identity features a more statutory logo containing deep blue typography. This new logo continues to showcase the group's symbol — the single, emblematic honey-colored bernache goose. This migratory bird is the brand and mobile app icon."

Chairman and CEO Sébastien Bazin said: "Accor becomes Accorhotels and proudly re-assumes its role as a pioneer hotelier that never stops innovating and surprising, at the cutting edge of digital technology, but while remaining a hotelier, first and foremost."

Accor Hotels has also launched a new version of its mobile app that unites all the group's brands in one place.

Last month, Accorhotels announced plans to open a Mercure property in Derby and an Ibis Styles hotel in Leeds (see news, May 24).
