Oman Air will operate a daily non-stop service between Muscat and Kuala Lumpur from June 21.
The carrier launched a stopping service linking the two cities in 2010.
It currently flies the route six-times daily both as a sole operator and under codeshare agreements with Malaysia Airlines and Sri Lankan Airlines. Each of these services makes either one or two stops.
The new direct service will depart Muscat at 0900 and arrive in Kuala Lumpur at 201 and leave Kuala Lumpur at 0945 and land in Muscat at 1230.
Oman Air CCO Abdulrahman Al-Busaidy said: "Our new non-stop service between Muscat and Kuala Lumpur will be warmly welcomed by customers in both Oman and Malaysia, as well as those from further afield... Malaysia's position as a global centre for trade and finance means that Oman Air’s new service will serve our business customers extremely well."
The airline began new services to Singapore and Goa in March and will begin a four-times weekly operation to Dhaka in August (see news, March 4).
It has also launched a new app, called "APP", that allows users to book flights, check-in, update their flight status, and access Oman Air's latest offers and up-to-the-minute service information.
