Emirates has launched a free mobile app for Android devices.
The app allows users to book flights and review travel itineraries; manage their bookings; download their boarding pass directly or send it to a phone via text message or email; and receive flight boarding and gate change updates.
Users can also verify the status of a flight and sign up for departure/arrival alerts; manage all details of their Skywards loyalty account; and receive notifications about the airline's chauffeur service.
Alex Knigge, Emirates' senior vice president of digital, said: "With the popularity of Emirates' first app for iPhone, many customers have asked for the Emirates App for Android.
"In fact, half of all users who access our website via mobile devices are on the Android platform.
"Not only does this meet the needs of many of our customers while they're on the move, it also paves the way for innovation on other devices that use the Android platform."
The app can be downloaded here.
Earlier this year, Emirates announced changes to its fare types and to the amount of miles earned in its Emirates Skywards loyalty programme (see news, January 14).
