Virgin Atlantic has confirmed it will launch its direct daily service between London Heathrow and Detroit on June 1.
The daily route will be operated by an A330-300 in a three-class configuration.
Outbound service VS107 will depart LHR at 1010 and land in Detroit at 1315, while return service VS108 will leave Detroit at 1750 and arrive in London at 0625 the next day.
Virgin will be the only British airline to fly direct to Detroit. It first revealed its plans to fly to the Motor City last year (see news, September 2014).
The route is part of Virgin's transatlantic partnership with Delta Air Lines (see news, September 2013).
