Emirates to fly second daily Boston service

13 Apr 2015 by GrahamSmith
Emirates will add a second daily B777-300ER onto its Boston route in October. The Gulf airline launched its Dubai-Boston service in March 2014 (see news, September 2013), when it rostered a B777-200LR on the route. In August, capacity was increased by switching that aircraft to a B777-300ER that carries an additional 88 passengers in economy (see news, June 2014). Both planes have eight first class suites and 42 business seats. From October 1, a second B777-300ER will fly the route, reports airlineroute.net. From November 1, the following schedule will operate:
  • EK237 will depart Dubai at 0840 and arrive at Boston Logan at 1400, with return service EK238 leaving Boston at 2225 and landing in Dubai at 1935 the next day
  • EK239 will depart Dubai at 0250 and arrive at Boston Logan at 0810, while EK240 will leave Boston at 1105 and land in Dubai at 0815 the next day.
Increasing its North America operation is a logical move for Emirates, as the airline may face future restrictions on its expansion plans in the region (see news, March 23). And, one of Emirates closest partners in the US, Jetblue, has a sizable hub at Boston Logan airport, allowing passengers to make use of codeshare services. emirates.com Graham Smith
