Air Arabia launches loyalty programme

17 Mar 2015 by GrahamSmith

Air Arabia has launched a loyalty programme called Airewards.

The airline claims the frequent flyer programme is the first to be offered by a low-cost carrier in the Middle East and North Africa region.

Airewards points are based on money spent rather than distance travelled and can be earned on any product or service purchased from Air Arabia.

One hundred points is equal to US$1 and members earn five points for every $1 spent.

The carrier said in a statement: "Airewards can be redeemed via the Air Arabia website on flights, baggage and ancillaries, using only points or a combination of points and cash. The programme offers unlimited availability and no blackout dates.

"For passengers who fly frequently for business and then occasionally with their whole family, Airewards offers a dedicated 'Family Account' for up to eight relatives to enable faster earning and quicker redemption."

Air Arabia CEO Adel A Ali said: "Air Arabia is proud to unveil Airewards, the region's first ever low-cost carrier loyalty programme... This programme not only sets the standard for the low-cost aviation industry, it also allows us to say a big thank you to the millions of loyal passengers who chose to frequently fly with our airline."
