Virgin to fly B787-9 to Hong Kong

16 Mar 2015 by GrahamSmith

Virgin Atlantic will roster a B787-9 onto its daily London Heathrow to Hong Kong service in July.

The British carrier will replace the A340-600 that currently flies the route with the Dreamliner.

From July 5, the Boeing aircraft will operate services VS206/207. These flight codes are identical to, and replace, VS200/201, reports airlineroute.net.

Outbound service VS206 will depart LHR at 2230 and arrive in Hong Kong at 1730 the next day, while return service VS207 will take-off from Hong Kong at 2345 and land in London at 0525 the next day.

Last week, it emerged that Virgin has postponed introducing a daily B787-9 service to Los Angeles by a week (see news, March 19).

The airline said it plans to roll-out the aircraft on several more routes this year, including London Heathrow to Delhi, Shanghai and Johannesburg.
