Hilton acquires Wyndham Union Square hotel

Hilton Worldwide has acquired Parc 55 Wyndham San Francisco - Union Square, it has been announced.

The property will now be renamed Parc 55 San Francisco a Hilton Hotel.

It features 1,024 guest rooms, 54 suites and more than 2,785 sqm of meeting and event space, including 23 meeting rooms and a business centre.

There is also a 24-hour fitness centre, while dining options include Thai eatery Kin Khao, Cable 55 Restaurant and grab-and-go style Barbary Coast.

The hotel is one of five properties that Hilton has purchased using the proceeds of the sale of Waldorf Astoria New York. The other properties are The Reach, A Waldorf Astoria Resort and Casa

Marina, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, both in Key West; and Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek and Waldorf Astoria Resort Orlando.

Keith Clampet, Hilton Worldwide's senior vice president of hotel operations, said: "Parc 55 complements its new sister hotel, Hilton San Francisco Union Square in one of the world's most desirable gateway destinations."

Last week, Hilton Worldwide announced it will open its first Doubletree property in Egypt in 2017 (see news, February 20).
