9 Feb 2015 by GrahamSmith

Air Canada will increase services on its Calgary to London Heathrow route this summer.

The national carrier will roster nine weekly flights between the two cities from May 2, before upping this again to 11 weekly on June 2.

From that date, a daily service will operate as AC850/AC851 and flights AC852/AC853 will run on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, reports airlineroute.net.

Outbound service AC850 departs Calgary International at 1750 and arrive at LHR at 0935 the following day, with return service AC851 leaving Heathrow at 1105 and landing in Calgary at 1315.

Flight AC852 departs Calgary at 1955 and arrives in London at 1150 the next day, while return flight AC853 takes off from Heathrow at 1615 and lands in Calgary at 1835.

Air Canada is also reducing services between Edmonton and London Heathrow from six weekly to four weekly on April 30, and then down to three weekly on May 29.

Once a thrice-weekly service, outbound flight AC898 will depart Edmonton on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 2010 and arrive in London at 1150 the following day, while return flight AC899 will leave Heathrow on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 1615 and land in Edmonton at 1815.

Last week, Air Canada defended its decision to install tightly-configured seating in economy on its B787-9 Dreamliner and B777-300ER aircraft (see news, February 6).
