SAS reveals Cafe Lounge concept

22 Jan 2015 by GrahamSmith

SAS will unveil its new Cafe Lounge concept at Trondheim and Tromso airports in Norway in the spring.

Both SAS Cafe Lounges, which will complement the existing SAS lounges, are located next to the departure gate.

They are designed so that business travellers can work right up until boarding the aircraft and will offer wifi, tea, coffee and pastries.

Entry is for Gold and Diamond members of SAS' Euro Bonus loyalty programme and to the airline's Plus class passengers, as well as to business class passengers travelling with Star Alliance airlines.

Eivind Roald, SAS' executive vice president commercial, said: "We are absolutely thrilled to launch yet another in-demand product, the SAS Cafe Lounge.

"Our most frequent flyers appreciate time saving services such as Fast Track, which is why we are now offering an additional service designed especially for them.

"Fast flows are important on our domestic market and customers can work effectively in our Cafe Lounges located close to the gate."

The SAS Cafe Lounge at Trondheim airport is scheduled to open in April and the facility at Tromso airport in May.

Later this year, the airline will open further SAS Cafe Lounges in Scandinavian airports.

SAS last year revealed the new-look interior is now starting to be rolled-out on its long-haul fleet (see news, June 2014).
