Cathay adds three weekly flights to San Francisco

15 Jan 2015 by GrahamSmith

Cathay Pacific will operate an extra three weekly flights to San Francisco from June 11.

The airline will from that date fly a total of 17 weekly services between Hong Kong and San Francisco International airport.

The additional flights will operate as CX892/CX893, in addition to the two daily return services — CX872/CX873 and CX870/CX879 — already in place.

Outbound service CX892 will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, departing Hong Kong at 1845 and arriving in San Francisco at 1630 local time.

The return service, CX893, will fly on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, taking off from SFO at 0130 and landing in Hong Kong at 0640 the following day.

Rupert Hogg, Cathay Pacific's CCO, said: "Adding an evening departure out of Hong Kong will give our passengers more flexibility when travelling to San Francisco.

"These additional flights will also be a boon for the significant number of passengers who choose to travel through the Hong Kong hub to connect to a huge number of Asian destinations in the networks of Cathay Pacific and our sister airline, Dragonair."

Earlier this week, Cathay Pacific launched its new amenity kits for first and business class passengers on long-haul flights (see news, January 13).
