Air New Zealand will operate a daily B787-9 service to Tokyo Narita two months earlier than planned.
The national carrier was scheduled to start flying the stretched Dreamliner between Auckland and Tokyo Narita on a daily basis from October 25. Currently, ANZ flies both the B787-9 and a B767-300ER on the route.
The B787-9 will now be rostered daily on the route from August 21, reports airlineroute.net.
Outbound service NZ099 will depart Auckland at 0840 and arrive at Tokyo Narita at 1650, while return service NZ090 will depart Narita at 1830 and land at Auckland at 0820 the following day.
ANZ received the first B787-9 Dreamliner in July (see news, July 9). It has now finalised an order with Boeing for another two B787-9s with Boeing.
The deal, which has a list price of $514 million, was first booked last year and brings to 12 the number of B787-9s that ANZ has ordered.
