Qantas has unveiled its new Qantas First Lounge at Los Angeles International airport.
The facility can accommodate more than 200 people and is three-times the size of the Australian airline's previous first class lounge at LAX.
It joins the Qantas-managed Los Angeles Business Lounge, which opened in June and is jointly owned by Qantas, BA and Cathay Pacific (see news, June 18).
Qantas First Lounge is based on the carrier's first class lounges in Sydney and Melbourne and was designed by Marc Newson.
It contains a 74-seat restaurant and bar with an open-style kitchen, two private work suites and seven showers with Aurora Spa ASPAR products. Features include wifi, wireless printing and cable television.
Qantas First Hosts will provide a personalised service for guests travelling in first class, which includes dedicated check-in, fast-track immigration and dedicated boarding.
Qantas CEO Alan Joyce said: "The new lounge is more than triple the size of the previous space, and the design and service is equal to the world's best five-star hotels and restaurants...
"This new lounge is symbolic of our continued investment in our customers and commitment to the US market.
"We are the only airline to operate non-stop A380 services between Australia and the United States, we've recently introduced the A380 on services between Sydney and Dallas/Fort Worth and opened a new business lounge in LA in June."
