BA launches regional rail partnership

1 Dec 2014 by BusinessTraveller

British Airways has announced a new partnership with Heathrow Express and First Great Western, allowing customers to buy single tickets incorporating their flights and rail journeys.

From December 5 passengers will be able to book through-tickets to and from 11 First Great Western stations, as well as the Heathrow Express service from London Paddington, onto flights from London Heathrow Terminals 3 and 5.

The combined tickets will be available from all travel agents working with BA in the UK, and will allow passengers to board the next available flight or rail service, should their connection be delayed in either direction. Overnight accommodation will also be provided should an alternative flight not be available on the same day.

The service will be available from First Great Western stations at Oxford, Bristol Parkway, Bristol Temple Meads, Bath, Cardiff, Exeter, Plymouth, Swansea, Penzance, Par and St Austell.

Singapore Airlines launched a similar service with First Great Western earlier this year (see news January 22).
