ANA and Philippine Airlines have announced a partnership that includes reciprocal frequent flyer programme benefits and codeshare routes.
From October 26, and subject to regulatory approval, members of ANA Mileage Club and PAL's Mabuhay Miles can earn and redeem miles on both airlines.
On the same date, the two carriers will start codesharing on routes between Japan and the Philippines. The total number of flights between the two countries operated by ANA and PAL will be 74 per week.
ANA will add its "NH" code to PAL-operated flights, not only between Japan and the Philippines but also on domestic flights within the Philippines.
PAL will add its "PR" code to ANA operated flights between Japan and the Philippines and domestic flights within Japan.
Passengers will also be able to take advantage of through check-in, reducing minimum connection times at Manila airport from 120 minutes to 90 minutes when connecting to onward domestic flights, while business passengers will receive lounge access.
In August, ANA operated the world's first scheduled B787-9 services (see news, July 31).
