BA cuts Buenos Aires flights

26 Sep 2014 by GrahamSmith

British Airways will next summer reduce its daily service to Buenos Aires to five-times weekly.

The airline has decided to axe two flights due to a lack of passenger demand.

From March 31, outbound service BA0245 departing London Heathrow at 2225 and arriving in Buenos Aires Pistarini at 0810 the following day will no longer operate on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Likewise, return service BA0244 departing Buenos Aires at 1300 and landing in London at 0620 the next day will no longer run on Wednesdays and Fridays.

A BA spokesperson told Business Traveller: "From the summer season next year, we will operate five flights a week from London to Buenos Aires, which aligns to the current demand from customers."

Last week, American Airlines announced it will limit the availability of tickets from the US to Argentina to within 90 days of their purchase.

And in March, South African Airways cancelled its Johannesburg to Buenos Aires service due to low passenger numbers, while United Airlines last year cancelled its New York to Buenos Aires service.

Last week, BA announced it will return to Kuala Lumpur next year after a 14-year absence (see news, September 17).
