Air Canada Rouge will operate a non-stop service between Vancouver and Osaka Kansai airport next summer.
The carrier will deploy a three-class B767-300ER — with Rouge, Rouge Plus and Premium Rouge cabins — onto the route, which will run from May 1 until October 24.
The service will operate up to five-times weekly and is subject to regulatory approval.
Flight AC1928 will depart Osaka at 1625 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and arrive in Vancouver at 0955 the same day.
Flight AC1927 will take-off from Vancouver at 1205 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and land in Osaka at 1455 the following day.
Benjamin Smith, Air Canada's president of passenger airlines, said: "We are very pleased to add Osaka to our international route network with the introduction of the only non-stop flights from Canada to Kansai International Airport starting May 1.
"The flights to Kansai International Airport have been timed to connect conveniently at Air Canada's Vancouver hub to and from our extensive North American network.
"By next summer, Air Canada rouge, Air Canada, and Star Alliance partner airline ANA will offer up to six daily non-stop flights between Canada and Japan."
Air Canada last month increased the number of Preferred Seats with additional legroom aboard its North American services (see news, August 15).
