Qatar to up capacity on Perth route

4 Aug 2014 by GrahamSmith

Qatar Airways will increase capacity on its Doha to Perth route by 30 per cent, the airline has announced.

From October 1, the Gulf carrier will roster a B777-300 onto its direct daily flights to Perth Airport. It currently flies a B777-200 on the route.

As a result the number of seats in economy will rise from 217 to 356, while business seating will decrease from 42 to 24. For a seatplan of the B777-300 to be deployed onto the route, click here.

Outbound service QR900 departs Doha at 0200 and arrives in Perth at 1755, while return flight QR901 takes-off from Perth at 2330 and lands in Doha at 0550 the next day.

Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker said: "Qatar Airways was very pleased to be able to expand our operations in Australia by adding Perth to our network of destinations just two years ago.

"It has proven to be a very sound move as we have had great success with the route. And now we are already increasing our capacity to meet the needs of our Australian passengers who are extremely keen and avid travellers, with a great sense of adventure.

"We are very pleased that they continually choose to fly with us and have the opportunity to enhance their overall travel experience with our five-star service and product."

Last month, Qatar Airways again postponed its inaugural A380 route to London Heathrow (see news, July 7).
