British Airways has extended its hand baggage only fares to include all short-haul flights from Gatwick, Heathrow and London City airports.
The airline first introduced the option — which sees fares typically £20 cheaper for a return ticket or £10 less for a single — on five flights from London Gatwick in February last year (see news, February 2013).
This was then extended to all of BA's 32 routes from Gatwick (see news, March 12), and then to services from Heathrow in September (see news, September 11).
Now the hand baggage only fare is available on all short-haul flights from LHR, LGW and LCY and in all fare classes, BA has confirmed to Business Traveller.
Passengers choosing the hand baggage-only fare can carry on a case measuring up to 56cm x 45cm x 25cm, plus a handbag or laptop bag.
Robin Glover-Faure, head of short-haul at British Airways, said: "The new fares have been so well-received by customers that we have now extended them to all our short-haul routes.
"We think our generous two-bag hand luggage policy is a great deal for those choosing the hand baggage only option to fly with us this summer."
