22 Jul 2014 by GrahamSmith

Asiana Airlines has moved forward its inaugural long-haul A380 service to August 20.

The South Korean carrier had planned to start operating the superjumbo between Seoul Incheon and Los Angeles from August 26.

As a result of the change, the airline will stop running its daily A380 route from Seoul to Tokyo Narita on August 19, instead of August 25 as originally planned.

And, Asiana will also be moving forward its planned B747-400 service to Frankfurt from August 26 to August 20, reports airlineroute.net.

From August 20, the carrier's A380 will depart Seoul Incheon daily at 1450 under flight code OZ202, arriving at LAX at 0950 local time. Return service OZ201 will take-off from Los Angeles at 1220 and land in Seoul at 1720 the following day.

Asiana will also continue operating a daily B777 service between the two cities under flight codes OZ203 and OZ204.

Asiana took delivery of the first of six A380s it has on order in May (see news, May 27).

Its will configure its superjumbos in a three-class layout, seating 495 passengers in 12 private First Suites, 66 fully-flat seats in Business Smartium (business class) and 417 seats in Travel Class (economy).
