Etihad and Air Baltic expand codeshare

21 Mar 2014 by GrahamSmith

Etihad Airways and Air Baltic have expanded their codeshare agreement.

The newly added routes, which are subject to regulatory approval, include services from Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich to Abu Dhabi and Riga.

The additional routes will see the two airlines offer 37 connecting flights per week between Abu Dhabi and Riga.

Etihad and Air Baltic will place their respective EY and BT flight codes on services to and from these cities.

Air Baltic already places its flight code on Etihad Airways flights between Abu Dhabi and Muscat, and Etihad currently puts its EY flight code on Air Baltic services beyond Riga to Bergen, Billund, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Oslo, Stavanger, Stockholm, Tallinn, Turku, and Vilnius.

Reports yesterday suggested that Etihad Airways, which owns a 30 per cent stake in Air Berlin, would like to see the German carrier split into two separate divisions (see news, March 20).
