Marriott International has opened its first hotel in Osaka.

The Marriott Miyako Hotel, which is the group's fourth property in Japan, is located in the new Abeno Harukas building opposite Osaka Abenobashi Station. Kansai International Airport is a 30-minute train journey away.

The 60-storey complex stands 300 metres tall with five additional underground floors.

The hotel's 360 guestrooms are located on floors 38 to 55 and come with views over the city Osaka. There is an executive floor and dedicated executive lounge, with 10-metre high ceilings, that offers light refreshments and snacks throughout the day.

The property also features a large 230 sqm meeting room and six smaller 32 sqm meeting rooms. All are wifi enabled.

Fine-dining: The ZK restaurant occupies the entire 57th floor

Dining options include the lobby lounge; a bar on the 19th floor; an open kitchen buffet restaurant called Cooka, which offers Japanese and international dishes; and, occupying the entire 57th floor, fine-dining restaurant ZK serves authentic Japanese cuisine, including Teppanyaki, and western dishes.

Mariott recently opened North America's talles hotel in New York (see news, January 8).
