Ryanair announces new Manchester routes

24 Jan 2014 by GrahamSmith

Ryanair has announced two new routes from Manchester to Lisbon and Zadar.

The services from the north-west airport, which both begin in April, are in addition to four routes — to Barcelona, Bologna, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria — that Ryanair will introduce in March (see news, January 15).

The airline's spokeswoman Maria Macken said: "Ryanair is pleased to announce two more new routes at Manchester to Lisbon and Zadar.

"Ryanair's new Lisbon route will operate four times weekly on Mondays, Wednesday, Fridays and Sundays and the new Zadar route will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays."

The budget carrier will also be opening its third Portuguese base in Lisbon in April. There, it will house one aircraft and operate four new summer routes, to Manchester, Dole, Marseille and Pisa, out of nine in total.

David O'Brien, Ryanair's chief commercial officer, said: "Ryanair is delighted to announce Lisbon as our 65th base, and our third in Portugal, and to unveil four new routes to Dole, Manchester, Marseille and Pisa beginning in April, as part of our summer 2014 schedule."
