Hilton Worldwide will open Scotland's first Hampton by Hilton hotel in Glasgow this summer.
The Hampton by Hilton Glasgow Central, formerly an office block, will first undergo an £11 million redevelopment programme.
Once finished, the property on West Campbell Street, a short walk from Glasgow Central rail station, will have 88 guestrooms, a 24-hour fitness centre and a round-the-clock snack bar.
Facilities will also include free high-speed internet access and 32-inch televisions and secure safes in rooms as standard.
Patrick Fitzgibbon, Hilton Worldwide's senior vice president, development, Europe and Africa, said, "Hilton Worldwide has a strong presence in Glasgow, led by our flagship Hilton Glasgow which last year celebrated its 20th anniversary.
"Visitor numbers to the city are expected to grow by up to one million a year until 2016 so the time is right to go on to expand our portfolio here.
"Having successfully opened Hilton Garden Inn Glasgow City Centre two years ago, we are delighted to be providing further choice for guests seeking affordable, quality, centrally located accommodation with our debut Hampton by Hilton."
Last summer, Hilton announced it will have a portfolio of 23 Hampton by Hilton hotels in the UK by 2015 (see news, June 2013).
