Hilton Istanbul BomontiHilton has this week opened Istanbul's largest hotel on the European side of the city.

The 34-storey Hilton Istanbul Bomonti Hotel & Conference Center has 829 guest rooms and suites, and 12,000 sqm of event space.

It is located in the Sisli district, 21 kilometres from Ataturk International Airport, three kilometres from Taksim Square and eight kilometres from The Old Town.

The property comes with 3,300 metres of "wellbeing space", indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a gym.

iRoom applications and digital check-in screens can be used for event planning, and the largest pillar-free ballroom in the city can host major conferences.

The Grand Lobby serves Turkish coffee, other drinks and light snacks, and there is a cocktail bar, Cloud 34, which has views across the Bosphorus. A restaurant, The Globe, serves cuisines including Turkish, Western Grill, Sushi and Thai.

Eligible hotel guests are able to use an executive lounge with views across the city.

"With its significant scale, the hotel supports Istanbul as a rapidly emerging international conference and events venue to rival locations such as London, Dubai and Prague."

Hilton Worldwide now has 24 hotels in Turkey under its Conrad Hotels & Resorts, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, DoubleTree by Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton by Hilton brands.

Last month, it emerged that Hilton Worldwide is planning to launch a boutique hotel brand in 2014, to compete with Starwood's W Hotels and Marriott's Edition (see news, December 17).
