Air New Zealand has relaunched its mobile app to allow passengers to check-in online.
The Air NZ app, which is available for both Android users and those with Apple iOS devices, will permit customers to check-in from 24 hours before departure.
Smartphone owners can check-in up to 90 minutes prior to an international flight's departure, while those flying on a domestic service can do so up until 30 minutes beforehand.
The app also lets users choose seats and print boarding passes, or use their smartphone as an electronic boarding pass.
Calum Laming, Air New Zealand's general manager customer experience, said: "Both the Air NZ mobile app and online check-in offer customers a new level of convenience, saving them valuable time allowing them to check in remotely and to print their boarding pass from home.
"Customers can also use their smartphone as their boarding pass with the app recognised by Air New Zealand kiosks."
ANZ passengers are also able to use the app to review their personal travel details and receive up-to-date flight information, details about the airports they are flying into and out of, and traffic and weather forecasts.
Last week, the airline launched an invitation-only Priority One loyalty programme, aimed at its "top individual spending travellers" (see news, November 25).
