The Rotana Group plans to open its second property in Doha by the end of this year, complementing the 400-room Oryx Rotana close to Doha International Airport.
CEO Selim El Zyr said the new Qatar property is part of an "aggressive, yet tactical expansion strategy" in the region that will see the group managing 12,515 rooms this year, and increasing its portfolio to 70 properties by 2012.
"For the next four years, Rotana will open 10 hotels per year," he said. "The execution and know-how are there and the objective is clear."
This year the group has opened the Erbil Rotana and Centro Sharjah (click here).
Its summer promotions are in full swing. Spend AED699 in any of Rotana's 59 UAE restaurants before July 31, and you'll receive a free one-night stay in one of its UAE hotels and resorts.
