Royal Jordanian inaugurates three-a-week direct services between Amman and Berlin today, its third route to Germany.
The service, operated on A320s, departs Amman Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
On Mondays, flights depart 0740 and arrive in Berlin at 1110, before leaving Berlin at 12 noon and landing in Amman at 1715.
On Thursdays and Saturdays, flights depart Amman at 1030 and reach Berlin at 1400, with the return flight leaving Berlin 1445 and arriving in Amman at 1945.
Royal Jordanian occupies about 77% of the air transport market between the two countries, operating three weekly flights to Munich, which started in 2001, and daily flights to Frankfurt, which started in 1970.
RJ President and CEO Hussein Dabbas said that that the decision to resume services to Berlin follows an increase in business travel demand and commercial activity between the two countries.
Once airberlin joins the oneworld alliance, set for early 2012, Royal Jordanian passengers will be able to continue their flights beyond Berlin throughout Europe - and Berlin Brandenburg International airport, which will eventually have passenger capacity of 45m passengers a year, is due to open around the same time.
"airberlin is bound to move to the new airport and, as a consequence, Royal Jordanian will move to the new airport as well," said Dabbas.
