The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong, billed as the world's highest hotel, opens its doors today.
The luxury hotel, the brand's 16th in Asia, occupies floors 102-118 at the top of the 484-metre International Commerce Centre and overlooks Victoria Harbour in the heart of the city. It eclipses Dubai's stratospheric duo, Rose Rayhaan by Rotana (333 metres) and Burj Al Arab (320 metres).
Guests are met at the ninth floor arrival lobby before being whizzed up to the hotel.
The 312-room hotel features Deluxe Rooms starting from 50sqm, and go all the way up to the 365sqm Ritz-Carlton suite. Rooms contain wifi, iPod docking stations, blu-ray DVD players and flat screen TVs.
Three of the hotel's six restaurants are located on the 102nd floor, including a Chinese restaurant serving 'refined' Cantonese cuisine, while the floor above contains a chocolate-themed library.
The 116th floor spa contains nine treatment rooms while the hotel is topped off with Ozone, which serves contemporary Asian tapas and stylish wine list, and an infinity pool.
“The opening of this landmark hotel in Hong Kong is the culmination of many years of hard work and dedication to delivering the very best product, facilities and service in this international gateway city,” said Herve Humler, president and chief operations officer of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company.
