The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company has struck an agreement with Abu Dhabi National Hotels (ADNH) for The Ritz-Carlton to operate a waterfront hotel in Abu Dhabi, which will open late 2011.

The third Ritz-Carlton in the UAE is located in landscaped gardens with its own private beach overlooking the Grand Canal.

Designed by Otak International, The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi Grand Canal will contain 447 rooms and suites, as well as 85 villas.

Inspired by the 15th to early 17th century Renaissance architecture and the urban planning of Venice, 10 stately buildings are arranged in a crescent formation.

The hotel contains a 1,600sqm outdoor pool and water features throughout the 220,000sqm property.

The one and two-bedroom villas range from 90-130sqm and come with spacious outdoor terraces and personalized butler service.

On site is The Ritz-Carlton Club, a private floor accessible only by elevator key, offering five complimentary F&B presentations throughout the day and dedicated concierge service.

An all-day dining Italian restaurant features an outdoor terrace overlooking the gardens; the steak and seafood restaurant will serve specialty cuisine in a contemporary setting; the Middle East restaurant aims to showcase the best in regional cooking; and the Asian restaurant will whet the appetites for all things spicy and Oriental.

A rooftop terrace, two poolside bars, Lobby Lounge and bar will offer guests a wide selection of drinks and bite-sized meals.

MICE business will be a key component with 2,040sqm of flexible space, including a 1,500sqm ballroom divisible by three, along with 11 meeting rooms.

Managed by ESPA, the 2,000sqm spa will have its own separate entrance, and offer 20 private treatment rooms as well as a fully-equipped fitness centre, outdoor tennis courts, and other heat and water experiences.
