The Cassa Hotel in midtown Manhattan has joined Viceroy Hotel Group's Urban Retreat Collection.

Located in the central business district on 45th Street between 5th and 6th Avenue, the property is a short walk from Broadway and Times Square, and will target "busy business executives and leisure travellers alike".

Designed by architect Enrique Norten of TEN Arquitectos and CetraRuddy, guests are greeted by a striking lobby, which leads to a catwalk suspended over a restaurant.

It contains 165 rooms and suites, including studios, deluxe rooms, junior and executive suites.

The abstract impressionist photography of Irene Mamiye graces the walls of each room, bathrooms are detailed with limestone and sleek fixtures, and Frette linens complete the guest experience.

Nicholas Clayton of Viceroy Hotel Group, said having a presence in a major city like New York is very important as it continues to establish the brand in leading destinations.

Viceroy has partnered with the BLT American Brasserie, and the new restaurant, by chef Laurent Tourondel, will feature classic American fare for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
