Chennai is about to see its first upscale beachfront hotel with the opening of a new Leela resort scheduled for the first quarter.
Located in a quiet residential part of Chennai, fronting the Bay of Bengal and close to the landmark Chettinad Palace at Santhome, the hotel has been developed on a 6.25-acre site that would also include a software park.
The 14 storeyed high-rise hotel will have 326 rooms comprising 232 deluxe, 8 Premier, 55 Royal Club, 8 Executive Suites, 13 Junior Suites, 2 Luxury and 2 grand suites, 2 Royal Club and 2 Royal Club grand suites, 1 Royal Suite and 1 Maharaja Suite. Rooms contain high-speed broadband.
Alongside 36,000sq ft of meeting and conference facilities are a lobby lounge, four restaurants, library bar and spa by ESPA.
The architecture, inspired by the royal, opulent Chettinad dynasty, will be offset by the grand expanse of the azure blue seas.
Upcoming hotels are also listed for Agra and Ashtamudi.
