Low-cost Indian carrier IndiGo starts four-a-week services from Mumbai to Muscat today, as well as daily services to Singapore.
Flight 6E-81 departs Mumbai 2125 and arrives in Muscat 2245, and the return flight (6E-82) departs Muscat 0005 and arrives Mumbai 0415.
Services run on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and the price of a return ticket for travel this Friday, quoted on the airline's website, is AED749.
Flight 6E-51 departs Mumbai 0840, arriving in Singapore 1650 and the return flight (6E52) leaves Singapore straight away and arrives in Mumbai 19.45. Return tickets for travel this week cost from AED987.
The Muscat route will raise competition with flydubai and Air Arabia, while the Singapore service is an interesting move as it opens up low-cost travel between Asia and the Gulf, via India.
