Hard Rock Hotel Abu Dhabi will open on the city's Corniche in 2014.

The 378-room property, a brand extension for the popular chain of music-themed venues, will join the increasingly crowded luxury sector, one which has seen eight hotels open during the last six months.

Alongside an assortment of signature restaurants, entertainment and meeting facilities, will be a Sky Lobby on a fifth floor podium, lobby bar with entertainment deck and lounge and 37th floor Sky Bar with pool.

The hotel will particularly target health and wellness visitors with more than 12,000sq ft of facilities, including the Body Rock® fitness center and signature Rock Spa®.

Executives will be able to use events and meeting facilities, which includes a business centre, six meeting rooms and 5,200sq ft ballroom.

The project was announced by Hard Rock International, in conjunction with Aabar Properties.

Hard Rock Hotels target "modern travellers who seek a reprieve from traditional, predictable properties, whether for business or leisure travel".
