Etihad and Air Berlin up capacity

Air Berlin will operate three daily services to Abu Dhabi from March 25 and Etihad's Abu Dhabi–Düsseldorf service will increase to a daily frequency from April 15.
The moves signal both carriers' intentions to bolster capacity after Etihad became the largest single shareholder of the German carrier.
All of Air Berlin's new flights will be operated by a by a two-class A330-200. A new direct service (AB7425) will be introduced between Abu Dhabi-Phuket.
Etihad's Düsseldorf service will be operated by a three-class A330-300.
From mid-April, Etihad will also launch a third daily Abu Dhabi-Bangkok service, its busiest route in 2011, with a two-class B777-300ER.
The Bangkok expansion is in response to anticipated volume increases from the Air Berlin partnership.
Air Berlin CEO Hartmut Mehdorn said its business passengers will benefit from more frequent flights to the Thai capital.
