Accor revamps economy brands

The Accor Group is revamping its economy brands in a bid to increase clarity and consistency.
ibis remains ibis, but all seasons becomes 'ibis styles' and Etap Hotel becomes 'ibis budget', reflecting the stronger consumer awareness of the ibis name.
Accor aims to implement the changes worldwide by early 2013 - and modernise the hotels and improve bedding comfort at the same time.
Changes are also earmarked for common areas, F&B and technology.
The group is introducing a new 'Open New Frontiers in Hospitality' tagline to reflect the corporate changes and changing face of hospitality in a digital age.
Among the changes include the rebranding of the group's A Club loyalty scheme as Le Club Accorhotels.

Ibis is generally a good brand, but their (and Accor's) idea of customer service could do with a rethink....when its good, its excellent. But when its bad, its dreadful.
One of my favourite hotels in Amsterdam is the Ibis beside Centraal Station: excellent restaurant and good vibes. The worst must be Ibis Val D'Europe (near Disneyland Paris): no restaurant weekends, poor range of food and dreary common areas. I applaud Accor for their initiative in revamping the brands.

They should add the "new" style Novotel to the IBIS Brand.
After staying in he Luxembourg and Leeds hotel`s recently i was overcome with beige.
These new build hotels have the worst decor for a Mid range hotel in the world.
Beige and white, beige (dirty looking) duvets, rough cast concrete walls (beige) with poor lighting etc.
Best bit is the bathroom white, light and airy, good heated mirror, power shower and space to move.
But no better than an IBIS.
