It is very simple why LX posts 23:59. Most of the people I know are checking the date of departure before the time. Therefore if you would have 00:01 on the 23rd Nov many people would miss their flight because they would show-up for check-in on...

I am a Gold Member and just checked the Thai Website and made a test booking BKK - ZRH - BKK for November and it came back with 130,000 miles per passenger. No sign of a 50% discount for Gold members!!
