Bypassing hotel front desks: Finally
09/02/12 | Forum post in reply to WANTITFAST

What astonishes me is why there is any demand at all for service industry outlets that offer - essentially - no service: the absence of human interaction to serve and assist. Why does anyone want to stay in such dismal circumstances??!

The new BA Gatwick check-in area
02/02/12 | Forum post in reply to NewBAexec

It's obvious that in terms of ambience and feel, Gatwick is very lower class and second best to LHR T5. But BA pulled out from Gatwick years ago, and it has never recovered for the premium traveller, apart from convenience, if relevant to a given...

Is AVOD Still Necessary?
22/09/11 | Forum post in reply to LuganoPirate

Of course provided AVOD is still necessary. Not everyone by any means wants to bother with the superfluity of a pad [in addition to (often two?) phones, laptop etc.] and airline service levels are already marginal against price, so we don't want...

Batten Down the Hatches: Avios is Coming!
01/09/11 | Forum post in reply to VintageKrug

Oh, dear. Avios. Obvious Spanish connotations but bland and meaningless, notwithstanding inevitable newness. All the strong brand value and profile of "BA" and "Executive Club" flushed away in a stroke. Bad decision. Up there with other famous...

"Men's Only" On Board toilet - share your ideas?!
18/02/10 | Forum post in reply to MarcusUK

You're all nuts to even discuss such a preposterous, unnecessary and pointlessly expensive idea as segregated toilets and urinals on a plane.

Club Europe Breakfast Picture
14/01/10 | Forum post in reply to VintageKrug

Vintage Krug - "not bad" service from your breakfast snap? Oh, please. Our business class tickets - and prices - deserve absolutely nothing less. I have long been a loyal BA supporter but at the same time do not feel abjectly grateful or...

BA Cut crew on Long Haul flights
11/12/09 | Forum post in reply to MarcusUK

When I read all the criticisms or comments about BA by other people over the years, one point stands out. BA's USP is the quality and service of its cabin crew and staff, ie people (and - less visible but of even more importance - the quality of...
