2012: Another "Extra" Bank Holiday for HM The Queen
22/05/12 | Forum post in reply to VintageKrug

270,000 people (Devon & Cornwall Police's figures) have viewed the Olympic Torch on it's route in the first 2.5 days. I'd hardly call that "little interest".

BA 'Firefly'
22/05/12 | Forum post in reply to CaptainGaz

Extension of Tete's point: BA are sponsors of LOCOG, and so are entitled to use the London 2012 symbols, which they do on a number of pieces of internal material. They are limited to using the sponsorship within the UK, except on plane...

Qantas
22/05/12 | Forum post in reply to Binman62

Binman, these might be seats on Charter aircraft - I was informed recently by a friend at STN, that QF were flying the Australian team in, and (similar to what they did in Athens & Beijing) have the aircraft based in the Olympic city for the...

Open cockpit doors and smoking

16/05/12 | Forum post in reply to sjldtlon1

I think the 747 was gone before 2007 - I flew to Nairobi in 2006 and it was 777 one way, 767 the other. There was a faded poster at Nairobi airport about a 747 service, but I remember a conversation with the crew that that had gone a couple years...

British Airways Olympic Livery (Not Dove)
16/05/12 | New topic created

The BBC's David Bond has taken a photo of the Olympic Livery (not Dove) British Airways aircraft that will bring the flame back from Athens on Friday. http://twitter.com/DavidBondBBC/status/202671736515342337/photo/1 For those who disliked...

No Smoking Signs Obsolete
15/05/12 | Forum post in reply to LuganoPirate

It doesn't help that the CAA and other regulators have different standards. Land at LHR on a CX or QF plane and you can use your phone once the runway has been vacated. Land on a BA plane and you can't. Standardisation might help universal...
