rferguson - Virgin is operating as a bit of a hybrid at the moment. Or perhaps like an American domestic or inter-european airline! If you travel in Business (or Premium Economy on some aircraft), you get free baggage and free food and drink....

paulkaz - remember there's a difference between interlining and codesharing. Codesharing is a closer relationship. Virgin codeshares with EY, but interlines with EK.

Interesting how perspectives change, often dependent on where you are in the world. Binman - the very clear perception in Australia is that it is CX that is unwilling to co-operate with QF, and CX that is an often lukewarm participant in oneworld!

Rich, I agree with you entirely - I much prefer daytime flights and was very put out when QF cancelled the noon departure ex-LHR. QF keeps saying that research shows most business pax want overnight flights, and very weirdly (to my thinking)...

In the last financial year, QF Domestic made a profit of about $520 million. QF International made a loss of about $130 million. So as LPPS says, a very profitable operation domestically, and making a decent profit all up. In contrast, its local...

Oh for heaven's sake - QF is taking 20 frequent flyers to London for the opening ceremony of the Games - that will NOT be costing "millions". (These are "Platinum One" frequent flyers, the highest tier). In relation to the job cuts, QF...
